Past Life Regression, Past Life Therapy and Hypnotherapy.

There are many reasons why a person may consider experiencing Past Life Regression.

Whatever their reason the experience itself is invariably interesting.

Past Life Regression.  Case Study.  April 2006.

Pat has been a friend of mine for many years.   I know that she has always felt that she may have witnessed a murder, when she was a child.  There is no evidence to support this view however, and as her 'feeling' failed to be proven, Pat felt that perhaps she herself might have committed a murder in a past life.  Alternatively, that this ‘feeling’ was in fact a premonition of her own death.

Pat came to see me to find out whether she might gather some further information about her 'feeling'.

Having settled Pat comfortably,  I led her through guided meditation and light hypnosis towards an imagined garden.  From there I led her into a deeper state of hypnosis towards a past life experience.  As Pat was visualising a pathway with gates on each side, I asked her to select a gateway which might hold information relating to a murder.

I should perhaps point out now that within the context of Past Life Regression theory, should there be no experience of murder within Pat’s past life, then there would not be a false picture evoked.  Past Life Regression is considered to be a process of accessing memories held. It is considered that the subconscious mind does not lie.

Pat immediately chose a gateway.  This gateway had the year 1942 stamped upon it.  When I asked her to pass through this gateway Pat felt that she herself was a child.  Her name was Elizabeth and she was 5 years old.  She became distressed and fearful of a man who she could see standing in front of her, who she felt wanted to hurt her.

Sensing that this experience might become more upsetting than either of us had anticipated I made the decision to bring Pat away from this place, closing the gate firmly behind her, and returning her along the path and back to full consciousness in the present time.

Pat and I then chatted about her experience.  She felt certain that she was Elizabeth, back in 1942.  She felt that, as she had been born into her present life in 1948 that her re-birth was ‘quick’ and she queried the likelihood of this.  As we had no answers and many questions, we decided to try regression again in the hope of learning more.

Once again I settled Pat into relaxation and took her back to the garden as before.  I then led her along the pathway, where she could see many gateways.  This time I suggested for her to look for a gate which had the numbers 1 9 4 0 on it.  I felt surprise when Pat immediately said that she was beside it.

When led through the gate Pat felt once again that she had become Elizabeth.  She described her older brother Georgie and said that they shared playing with his wooden train.  Her sister Anna shared her bed, Anna was older than herself, being 5 years old.  Anna had long dark wavy hair, whilst Elizabeth’s hair was fair and worn in ringlets. Elizabeth said that she was 3.  Many childish details were given, without any prompting.  Elizabeth ate from a white plate, she used a spoon rather than a knife and fork.  She owned a dolly.  The children played Tiddly Winks.  Her mother’s name, she said, was “Mummy” and some people called her mummy Margaret.  Elizabeth said that she didn’t see her daddy very much.  Elizabeth liked to play in the garden but didn’t like going out there alone as there were a lot of shadows.  After awhile I led Pat away from this place and brought her to full consciousness as previously.

Pat now believes that she herself had a short past life living as Elizabeth, until she was murdered in 1942 when she was just 5 years old.
